A Beautiful Mess is a social enterprise and hospitality concept of Refugee Company. In the restaurants and community cafes, colleagues work together with newcomers on their future. They work on the basis of quality, hospitality and inclusion, with much attention to talent development.

The role of Restaurant Manager

As Restaurant Manager, together with the current restaurant manager, you will lead the team and be responsible for daily operations. You will actively work on the floor, be visible to guests and colleagues and ensure that service, processes and team development are aligned.

You combine hands-on leadership with overview: you monitor quality, steer by figures and create a safe, professional working environment in which colleagues can grow. These are often colleagues and trainees taking their first steps in the Dutch labor market.

What will you do?

Leadership & team development

– Daily management of the team on the floor
– Coaching, motivating and supervising employees
– Ensuring a safe, pleasant and professional working atmosphere
– Really getting to know team members and paying attention to individual development
– Working with the team on growth and continuity
– Providing training and lessons for trainees
– Monitoring and improving service and hospitality

Operations & organization

– Drawing up rosters and monitoring staffing levels
– Stock management, ordering and contact with suppliers
– Conducting job interviews and ensuring proper induction
– Contributing to process improvements and professionalizing the operation
– Monitoring sales, costs and margins
– Steering a healthy balance between quality, people and profitability

Who are you?

– Affinity with our mission and the social domain
– At least 4 years of hospitality experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
– Fluent in Dutch and English (other languages are a plus)
– Experience working with diverse teams and target groups and knows how to build a cohesive team.
– Hands-on, stress-resistant and you have an eye for quality and hospitality.

– Coaching, patient and people-oriented.
